Tracking cooler air that is still warmer than average

TONIGHT

Temperatures will only top out in the middle 50’s today thanks to a cold front early this morning. Still, thanks to plenty of sunshine, temperatures are still above the seasonal high of 51. Skies will stay mostly clear tonight, with temperatures falling into the mid-30's by the early hours on Friday.

FRIDAY

A warm front will push through early Friday, bringing warmer air and more clouds with it. Still, temperatures will climb into the upper 60's by Friday afternoon. Despite the added clouds, Friday stays dry until the overnight. Light shower activity is possible Friday night.

EXTENDED

The warmup continues into Saturday. Temperatures start in the 50's early Saturday, thanks to continued cloud cover and a south wind. That makes it a little easier to reach 70 in the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. That front will attempt to fire up some storms Saturday evening. If it can, those could become severe with a few ingredients in play. That front will stall on Sunday, bringing back more shower and thunderstorm chances Sunday night into Monday. The severe threat with this round looks to stay to our south, but we could see a good soaking out of this batch. Cooler air will filter in on the backside of this system, which could change the leftover rain on Monday into some light snow for some. Highs will fall from the 70’s on Saturday to the low 40’s by Monday. We’ll recover into the upper 40’s Tuesday and Wednesday.
