Tracking spring-like temperatures all week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the upper 30s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs near 70. Avoid open burning with elevated fire conditions through the day.

EXTENDED: The forecast this week is fairly straightforward with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to low 70s tomorrow and Wednesday before a dry cold front works in from the north Wednesday night into Thursday. Gusty winds could cause elevated fire danger concerns for the next few days with dew points remaining low. We drop into the upper 50s Thursday, but we're right back into the 60s Friday before our pattern begins to shift heading into the weekend. A warm front lifts across the region Friday into Saturday, bringing us back to about 70 on Saturday, and triggering showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms Friday into Saturday. The associated cold front moves east across Mid-Missouri on Sunday, bringing yet another round of rain and a few storms before exiting Sunday night. Rain amounts look to be in the 0.5" to 1" range for those two days, with amounts increasing the farther south you go across the state. Temperatures behind this system will fall back into the 50s on Sunday and back slightly below average in the mid-40s by Monday.
