Tracking incoming sleet and snowstorm

Today: Temperatures top out in the mid-'20s for the high with snow and sleet moving in from the southwest. Chances of snow will be limited to the areas surrounding the I-70 corridor and south. Areas along and south of the I-44 corridor will experience increased chances of sleet.

Tonight: There will be a break in precipitation tonight as temperatures will continue to fall just below 20 degrees with winds remaining out of the north at 5-10 mph.

Extended: Another round of snow and sleet moves into the area from the southwest Thursday morning lasting through Thursday afternoon. Snowfall amounts will most likely fall between 1-2 inches with the possibility of up to 0.5" of sleet accumulating further to the southeast of the viewing area. Snow showers will then exit the region Thursday night leaving cooler temperatures Friday before a slow warming trend heading into next week.
