Tracking a break from the cold weather

TRYING TO WARM UP
KMIZ

FRIDAY

High pressure’s centered just to our north this morning. That will keep the sunshine around but as that pulls east, winds will swing out of the south this afternoon. It won’t be soon enough to help us get back to freezing today, with highs in the middle 20’s.

TONIGHT

Some clouds will move in this evening and stay with us overnight. Lows will fall back into the teens.

EXTENDED

We’ll filter those clouds out Saturday afternoon, with highs threatening the low 40’s. It looks like we’ll get there Sunday with some more morning clouds to shake off. Highs will push into the low 50’s Monday as another front slides through late in the day. We could pick up some showers if we can overcome the abundant dry air in place but they’ll be brief. The bigger impact from that system will be a pair of days in the upper 20’s for highs Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll be able to shake it off for the second half of next week with the low 40’s returning.
