Tracking some patchy fog and slick bridges this morning

FOG BRIDGE
KMIZ

THURSDAY: Some patchy fog will cause some delays this morning, especially along and south of I-70. A few slick spots will be possible on bridges north of the interstate, so no matter where you’re headed this morning, build in some extra time. Temperatures will struggle to warm up as much this afternoon, only reaching the low 40’s with stubborn clouds holding.

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be overhead tonight. That will keep things a bit warmer, with lows in the middle 30’s.

EXTENDED: We get more sunshine to help out tomorrow, boosting temperatures into the 50’s to end 2021. Starting 2022 will be a different story. Temperatures will fall overnight as our next storm system moves in. Rain will transition to a wintry mix and snow by Saturday morning, likely leading to troubles on the roadways. As temperatures continue to fall, snow will become the primary precipitation type by the afternoon. Eventually it’ll come to an end Saturday night as temperatures bottom out in the single digits. With a wind sticking around, wind chills will be below zero creating dangerous conditions to be outdoors. We’re stuck in the cold Sunday with highs in the 20’s before climbing out of it to start next week. Temperatures will top out in the 40’s Monday and Tuesday.
