Tracking another cold afternoon

THURSDAY: Light fog is still persisting for the early afternoon but will fade out as temperatures warm up. Highs top out in the mid-40s.

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy. A bit warmer with lows in the low 30s.

EXTENDED: We get more sunshine to help out tomorrow, boosting temperatures into the 50’s to end 2021. Starting 2022 will be a different story. Temperatures will fall overnight as our next storm system moves in. Rain will transition to a wintry mix and snow by Saturday morning, likely leading to troubles on the roadways. As temperatures continue to fall, snow will become the primary precipitation type by the afternoon. Eventually it’ll come to an end Saturday night as temperatures bottom out in the single digits. With a wind sticking around, wind chills will be below zero creating dangerous conditions to be outdoors. We’re stuck in the cold Sunday with highs in the 20’s before climbing out of it to start next week. Temperatures will top out in the 40’s Monday and Tuesday.
