Tracking dense fog this morning, afternoon showers
TODAY: Dense fog through late morning followed by showers developing this afternoon. Breezy, with highs in the upper 50s.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with showers ending by around midnight or before. Lows in the mid-40s.
EXTENDED: We're starting out this morning with thick fog across much of the area, particularly along the Missouri River. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for much of the state, especially east of Highway 63 until 10:00 a.m. I'm tracking a warm front that will lift in from the southwest today, triggering a chance for showers this afternoon into tonight. Less than 0.25" of rain is expected, and highs reach the upper 50s today. Clouds clear a bit tomorrow allowing us to get back into the upper 50s before a cold front arrives tomorrow night, and it will be breezy through the day as we'll be in the warm sector of this system. Rain moves in late, continuing through about mid-afternoon Tuesday. This is where we'll finally pick up some more measurable rain with about 0.5" to 1" possible through Tuesday evening. We're cooler behind this system as temperatures drop into the upper 30s Wednesday. The end of the week is looking quiet with highs in the 40s on Thursday and reaching near 50 on Friday. Another system is taking shape for next weekend, potentially bringing precipitation Saturday into Sunday.
