Tracking potentially record-breaking highs by mid-week

Tonight: Winds continue out of the southwest tonight at 10-15 MPH. Clear skies over Central Missouri helps cool the overnight lows back down into the mid-'30s.

Tomorrow: Winds continue out of the southwest to help aid in a dramatic increase in temperatures back toward 60 degrees. Mostly clear skies make for a beautiful day surpassing our mid-December average highs by 15 degrees.

Extended: Tuesday morning, cloud cover begins to move into the area thanks to moisture out of the south leading to partly cloudy skies while rising temperatures persist. On Tuesday and Wednesday, there are chances of a few stary light showers to areas in the south but most of MId-Missouri will stay dry. Early Wednesday evening a cold front slides in from the northwest bringing with it showers and storms lasting into early Thursday morning. These storms are currently expected to stay below severe criteria. We then cool down with multiple cold fronts heading towards the weekend.
