Tracking a warm afternoon before storms move in tonight
SUNDAY: A few passing showers might clip our far northern counties this morning. Otherwise, we’re looking at a dry day with highs climbing into the upper 80’s with sunshine making a return. A southwesterly breeze will keep things mixed up again this afternoon, with gusts up to 25 mph.
TONIGHT: Showers and storms will return this evening. A few might race ahead of the main shield this evening after 8 PM. Most of us will hold them off until after midnight, however. They’ll be noisy as they move in overnight, and we’ll be tracking the strongest possibly producing gusty winds. The overall severe threat looks better outside of the viewing area though. Lows will bottom out in the middle 60’s.
EXTENDED: The rain will stick with us throughout the morning tomorrow, and come to an end from west to east Monday afternoon. Highs will be stuck in the low 70’s tomorrow afternoon. Tuesday looks to stay dry and pleasant before our next system enters the picture. More showers and storms will move in overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. These will be what remains of stronger storms that form west of us and are expected to weaken by the time they arrive. With a slower-moving system, another round of storms is likely Wednesday evening. Both of these rounds could produce strong storms, but Wednesday evening will depend on how much fuel we recover by then. This system is expected to stall out, bringing back the threat for more rain Thursday into Friday. With the constant threat of rain around this week, highs will be stuck in the 70’s through Thursday before cooling into the 60’s by next weekend.
