Tracking near record temperatures this weekend
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly clear with lows in the low to mid-60s.
TOMORROW: Hot and breezy with highs in the upper 80s to around 90. Wind gusts from the south between 20-25 mph.
EXTENDED: Tomorrow is on track to be near record-breaking hot with highs near 90. It's breezy too, so that may help keep us a bit more comfortable. Sunday is just as hot before our next front arrives overnight, and we can expect highs in the upper 80s. It's a dry weekend, but feeling more like summer both days, so the A/C will be getting a workout once again. A strong system will send a cold front in from the west after midnight Sunday into Monday, bringing showers and storms starting before sunrise through mid-afternoon Monday. A couple of those may be on the heftier side as they enter the state late Sunday night, but the timing may be poor for organized severe weather in our area. That said, we could see some heavy downpours into the Monday morning commute. That front clears the area Monday night, leaving us drier on Tuesday. However, another system right on it's heels will send another warm front into the area during the day, making it a more favorable area for rain and storms to develop Tuesday night into Wednesday. I'm a little more confident in a couple storms on Wednesday afternoon given the environment, but we'll shake out those details a bit more as we get closer. Behind that front, the forecast models are trying to hint at some cooler fall like air with highs near 70 next Friday.
