Tracking a hot and breezy weekend, near record highs
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild in the upper 50s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the low to mid-80s.
EXTENDED: Clouds have started to clear out, allowing sunshine to warm us into the upper 60s to lower 70s. We'll be slightly cooler overnight with clearer skies, but we heat up quickly tomorrow with winds shifting southeast. Highs tomorrow get into the low to mid-80s. Winds increase even more on Saturday, sending highs into the upper 80s to around 90. The record is 91, so it will certainly be toasty at the tailgates Saturday afternoon. Sunday is almost just as hot with highs in the mid-upper 80s before clouds start to roll in ahead of our next front. That strong front will move in late Sunday night through Monday, bringing a chance of rain and storms overnight into Monday, with the better chance of anything severe staying to our east on Monday. That said, we'll end up with about an inch of rain through Monday morning. We start off next week about 10 degrees cooler than the weekend but almost 10 degrees warmer than normal. Another strong system to our north will send a cold front our way on Wednesday, bringing another shot at rain and a few storms along with an additional inch or so of rain. We'll be in the low to mid-70s on the other side of that to end next week, but looking dry next weekend.
