Tracking another hot day before storms arrive Wednesday night
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the lower 60s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny early, becoming partly cloudy by afternoon. A few spotty showers before sunset, becoming more numerous overnight into Thursday. Highs in the lower 80s.
EXTENDED: It's mild again tonight with lows back into the lower 60s, and we don't cool off much tomorrow with rain holding off until the wee hours of Thursday morning. Expect highs in the upper 80s tomorrow with a few more clouds trying to slide in by afternoon. As we get on the edge of high pressure on Thursday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through midday, becoming a bit more spotty toward late afternoon and evening. Friday starts off somewhat dry, with another push of showers and storms arriving by afternoon and evening. We'll continue to see scattered showers and storms through Saturday as a front tries to advance into the area as high pressure moves east. Temperatures will fall into the lower 80s through Friday, and eventually drop into the mid-upper 70s over the weekend. Next week, some of the forecast models are depicting a closed low just rotating around the Midwest with no place to go, so that spells cooler temperatures and daily chances for a few showers. We will hopefully kick that to the curb by the end of the week, giving us some quiet weather just in time for homecoming at Mizzou. Fall-like temperatures will be in place to start next week with highs in the low to mid-70s and lows in the mid-50s. Rain amounts for the next 7 days are still ranging between 1-1.5".
