Tracking some gorgeous weather for the start of fall

cool start to the season
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY: This is how you start a new season! Fall’s officially kicking off later today and we’ve got some very fall-like weather to ring it in. Temperatures today will only top out in the low 70’s despite nearly full sunshine this afternoon. Even a slight northerly breeze will keep things stirred up.

TONIGHT: What slight breeze we have will settle down tonight but skies will stay clear. That recipe will cool temperatures off more than we’ve seen since late May, with lows in the middle 40’s.

EXTENDED: The terrific weather is here to stay on Thursday! Highs will only make it into the middle 70’s tomorrow with more sunshine on the way. We’ll start to warm up on Friday as high pressure slides to our east. We’ll reach the low 80’s to end the week but a cold front will be approaching Friday night. We don’t expect there to be enough moisture to talk about meaningful rainfall but a few sprinkles will be possible east of HWY 63. Most of us will just receive some additional cloud cover. That will thin out on Saturday and some cooler air will slide in for Saturday, knocking highs back into the 70’s. This cooldown looks short-lived with winds turning southerly by Sunday. That will help lift highs into the upper 80’s with a chance to run down 90 on Monday. A midweek system looks to push back on that heat, cooling things off into the low to mid 80’s.
