Tracking one last toasty afternoon

warm start
KMIZ

MONDAY: We’ve got one more warm day to sweat through before some serious changes head our direction. Highs today will top out in the upper 80’s and low 90’s underneath more sunshine. A breeze out of the south will keep things stirred up, gusting up to 25 mph. That breeze is a sign of things about to change.

TONIGHT: That change is a cold front moving in this evening. Storms will erupt along it and move in around 8-9 PM. There is a low-end severe threat with these, primarily damaging wind gusts. Showers and storms will stick with us overnight, as lows cool off into the upper 50’s.

EXTENDED: There’s going to be some lingering showers Tuesday morning, but those are expected to move out by the afternoon, along with the cloud cover. Highs will be stuck in the low to mid 70’s not only tomorrow, but all the way through Thursday. We’ll break 80 on Friday before another weak front knocks us back a few degrees for Saturday. Temperatures will bounce back into the 80’s on Sunday as we continue to stay dry.
