Tracking an end to the heavy rain

storms slow
KMIZ

FRIDAY: Showers and storms will remain throughout the morning, largely in the same spots. North of that rain, some fog will try to get going and locally could be pretty dense. Build in some extra time no matter where your travels take you this morning. The rain will dwindle to just isolated showers by this afternoon as highs top out near 80.

TONIGHT: Rain will come to an end this evening, but mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures in the upper 60’s.

EXTENDED: We still expect the front responsible for all of this rain will make it far enough south to take those rain chances with it. Saturday and Sunday look dry aside from a rogue shower possibly near the Lake of the Ozarks. Highs will push into the middle 80’s with some partly cloudy skies for the rest of us. That quiet pattern looks like it’s here to stay getting into next week. Temperatures will slowly warm up into the upper 80’s and low 90’s by next Friday.
