Tracking hot and humid days ahead

THURSDAY: Sunshine looks to return early this morning. A few folks will wake up to some fog, but it doesn’t look like a widespread issue. One or two communities will pick up an afternoon shower, but most will stay dry. That means highs will press into the upper 80’s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies stick around tonight. Lows will only manage the low 70’s, as humid as it is.

EXTENDED: Friday looks to be the hottest day of the week. Highs will top out in the low 90’s, feeling close to 100 factoring in the muggy airmass. That warm, muggy airmass may be just enough to keep a complex of storms going Friday evening. This thing will be on its last leg, so a real chance it never makes it here, but some showers and storms will be possible west of HWY 63. The gusty winds with this system are expected to stay west of the viewing area. The front that triggered those storms will slowly work through the area Saturday. A few showers and storms will again be possible during the afternoon. Otherwise, we’ll get back to the upper 80’s and low 90’s. By Sunday, behind the front, the humidity will relax a bit. It’s still going to be toasty during the afternoon, with highs nearing 90. That will hold through Tuesday before the warm weather backs off a bit more.
