Tracking a chilly, yet pleasant day

TODAY: Morning frost followed by afternoon sunshine. Clouds return late in the day as winds shift southwest, bringing more moisture into the area. Highs in the upper 50s.

TONIGHT: Low temperatures will fall into the lower 40s. Rain showers are possible from the late evening throughout the night.

EXTENDED: A stronger low pressure system to our south will bring another round of rain and a few thunderstorms to the area on Friday afternoon into Friday night, bringing 0.5" to 1" of rain to parts of Mid-Missouri. The heaviest rain will likely be south of I-70. Showers linger into Saturday morning, with clouds and rain moving out by afternoon. Sunshine gets us into the lower 60s to finish our Saturday. Sunday will be the best day to enjoy some patio time with highs in the upper 60s and plenty of sunshine. We warm even further next week with highs in the upper 70s to around 80 on Monday and Tuesday with a chance for showers and storms returning late Tuesday into Wednesday. That round of active weather will have to be monitored for severe potential with the right ingredients setting up.
