Tracking a frosty start with showers possible later today

WEDNESDAY: We’re getting off to a freezing cold start but you might want to grab the umbrella stepping out. A passing disturbance looks to run into just enough moisture to kick up a spotty sprinkle into this afternoon. Elsewhere, we’ll get a few peeks of sunshine, helping temperatures into the upper 40’s and low 50’s.

TONIGHT: Showers will dissipate after sunset and take many of the clouds with them. That will lead to another cold night around Mid-Missouri, with temperatures falling below freezing, bottoming out around 30.

EXTENDED: Thursday looks like it’ll start out nice with plenty of sunshine, helping temperatures bounce back. Highs will top out in the upper 50’s but rain will move back in Thursday night. Showers will come and go into the overnight hours. We might get a brief break early on Friday but more showers and a few rumbles of thunder will move through Friday evening. Nothing organized is expected, and these should move out by midday Saturday. That leaves the rest of the weekend dry, with highs in the low 60’s Saturday, warming into the upper 60’s Sunday. Temperatures take a big step forward Monday and Tuesday next week, topping out in the mid to upper 70’s. Storm chances look to return late Tuesday into Wednesday.
