Tracking windy conditions
MONDAY: Another breezy afternoon will kick off a new week. Gusts as highs as 40 mph will be possible, and with plenty of dry fuels around, any fires outside could get out of hand fast. Try to avoid any outdoor burning today. Those winds will help push temperatures into the low-mid 70’s this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies stick around tonight with lows bottoming out in the upper 40’s.
EXTENDED: A cold front will start to enter the picture Tuesday, bringing some more clouds by the afternoon. That looks to cap highs in the low 60’s tomorrow with a shot at some showers by the evening. It’s looking like a lot of the dry air in place will hold the rain from reaching the ground until the best lift is around the I-44 corridor. Anything that can make it to the ground Tuesday night will be light and short-lived. Wednesday morning’s commute looks to be dry but cooler. Highs Wednesday, despite the return of sunshine, will only top out near 50. We’ll fall back below freezing Wednesday night as the cold air keeps settling in. We start to turn things around by Friday, with highs warming into the low 60’s, with the low 70’s possible this weekend.
