Tracking strong to severe storms for tomorrow

Tonight: Temperatures will fall into the mid-40s for an overnight low as clouds stubbornly hang on. A few spot showers will begin after midnight with the main event gearing up to start just before sunrise.

Tomorrow: As many of us wake up to venture out for our morning commute, our first round of storms will begin to move into the area. For most of the morning, we will be tracking the potential for heavy rainfall and damaging hail. We'll briefly see a break from the rain for the late morning and early afternoon as temperatures warm into the mid 50s. By the late afternoon and early evening, a low pressure system will continue to usher potentially severe storms into the area. Again, our main threats will be heavy rain and hail formation, but we cannot rule out a possible tornado.

Extended: Thursday, the rain will continue on the backend of this system where we could see totals nearing up to 2 inches in some areas in Central Missouri by Thursday night. Then finally, this week we look to be dry and our high temperatures near the mid 60s.
