Tracking some sunshine to close out the week
FRIDAY: Most of us will start out with some sunshine to close out the week! Temperatures will take some time to rebounds, but will top out in the upper 30’s. We’re tracking another disturbance that looks to bring some afternoon cloud cover. It might have just enough to generate some light snow showers, north of I-70. It doesn’t appear to be anything concerning, though.
TONIGHT: Quiet overnight under partly cloudy skies as lows fall to near 20.
EXTENDED: We’re tracking another disturbance that looks to be our best bet at accumulating snow moving in tomorrow. Snow looks to start falling toward the late morning-early afternoon hours. South of the interstate might start out as rain initially, but will join the party in the afternoon as well. Amounts look fairly light, in the 1-2” range, but will impact roads with cold air moving in at the same time. Temperaures will fall from the middle 30’s to the teens between noon and 6p. Travel will be difficult not only as the snow falls, but well after it with lows in the single digits. A Weather Alert Day Insider Blog has more details on what to expect this weekend. We’ll be tracking disturbances nearly daily that have the potential to drop some snow. Unfortunately, details are still murky into next week. One thing we know-the cold’s here to stay. Highs look like they won’t get back to freezing for the foreseeable future after Saturday.
