Tracking more stubborn clouds today

TUESDAY: We start off another morning with some clouds and it looks like it might be tough to shake this afternoon. High pressure is setting up shop, which will keep winds light, but looks like it will only clear up some clouds around the lake. Many of us will be stuck in the 30’s this afternoon as a result.

TONIGHT: We’ll hold onto partly cloudy skies overnight, keeping temperatures in the upper 20’s.

EXTENDED: Some more meaningful sunshine pushes in Wednesday. That will help temperatures warm into the upper 40’s and low 50’s. Get out and enjoy it, because rain returns early on Thursday and will be with us off and on throughout the morning. Things look like they’ll push east during the afternoon, but might briefly change over to a few snowflakes as it wraps up. We’ll take a break from the active weather Friday with highs parked in the 30’s. We’re tracking another system for Saturday that could bring us another shot at accumulating snow. There’s a lot of questions as to how much moisture this system will have. The other, more wide-reaching impact this weekend will be the cold moving in. Lows Saturday night into Sunday morning will fall into the single digits, with wind chills nearing or falling below zero. Sunshine will return Sunday, but highs will only top out in the teens. That sets the stage for another night with single digit lows moving into Monday morning.
