Tracking a more seasonal afternoon

WARMER AFTERNOON

THURSDAY: Winds are swinging out of a more southwesterly direction. That will try to warm us up this afternoon, but might run into a snag. Clouds look to be more stubborn than previously thought, holding highs closer to 40 this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies stick around with lows falling into the upper 20’s.

EXTENDED: A little better warmup is in store tomorrow, with those southerly winds picking up. Gusts will reach the 25-30 mph mark, carrying temperatures into the low 50’s Friday. This is all out ahead of an approaching cold front moving in overnight. A few showers will be possible for the first part of the day Saturday, but should move out by the afternoon. Temperatures will take a hit, back in the low to mid 40’s. Those bounce back into the upper 40’s Sunday, and keep warming into the middle 50’s Monday and Tuesday. We’re going to be tracking a massive cool down around Christmas next week. A powerful low pressure system will unlock our first blast of Arctic air of the young season. It doesn’t look like it has a ton of moisture, but that will be something we’re tracking the next few days.
