Tracking the return of cooler weather
THURSDAY: A few of us will wake up to some sprinkles but all of that, and the cloud cover, will move southeast by midday. Temperatures, however, will not move a whole lot today, staying in the 50’s as that cool northwesterly breeze kicks up again. Some gusts will approach 25 mph this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Those winds die down overnight, but we’ll keep the mostly clear skies overhead. Temperatures will plummet with that recipe into the low to mid 30’s, leading to patchy to widespread frost.
EXTENDED: After that cold start Friday, temperatures will improve—with more sunshine—to near 60 again to close out the week. We’ll briefly warm up Saturday close to a seasonal norm near 70 before cooling back down Sunday. That’s coming with some rain chances moving in Sunday afternoon. It’s looking like that rain will stick around into Monday, bringing some needed rain to the area. How much longer it lingers into the workweek still is up in the air a bit, but the opportunity is there. Those chances at rain will keep highs cool, near 60 to start the week.
