Tracking heat returning to Mid-Missouri
THURSDAY: It's fairly settled moving into this afternoon. We'll enjoy some sunshine, which will help temperatures into the upper 80's and low 90's. Feels like temperatures will be held in check with a northerly breeze throughout the day.
TONIGHT: Winds will try to turn a little more southerly overnight. Lows will still get back into the low 70's.
EXTENDED: Those southerly winds will return with a warm front lifting back north, along with the Summer heat. Temperatures look to top out in the low 90's Friday, but feel like the century mark for many of us. This hot and humid weather approaches dangerous levels through this weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 90's. For that, we've issued a Weather Alert Day beginning on Friday and lasting through Sunday. For the latest information on how to beat the heat and stay safe this weekend, head over to the insider blog. Rain chances will try to creep into the forecast from Monday on, which would take the edge off the heat. Otherwise, afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80's to low 90's into the middle of next week.
