Tracking a warm Father’s Day afternoon

dry this afternoon

FATHER'S DAY: Some patchy fog might greet some of us out the door, but we're staying dry. Temperatures will warm into the upper 80's to near 90 in some spots under partly cloudy skies. Can't completely rule out a pop-up storm, but most-if not all-of us will stay dry.

TONIGHT: Storms will get going out west and could spill over into Mid-Missouri during the early morning hours. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper 60's.

EXTENDED: These early morning storms look to keep us stable enough to hold back our severe potential by the afternoon. A cold front will move through and fire up another afternoon and evening round of storms, after highs top out in the low to mid 80's. Temperatures will be closer to 80 Tuesday and Wednesday behind the front, with rain chances on their way out. We warm back up into the upper 80's toward the end of the week before more storm chances slide back in toward next weekend.
