Temperatures expected to warm back up this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Spotty showers will fill in north of I-70 this afternoon. Steadier, more widespread rain will develop after midnight tonight.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the middle 30's overnight as showers continue. North of HWY 24 we could see some of that cold rain flip over to a few snow showers. Minor accumulations are possible up around Macon but will largely stay out of the viewing area.

EXTENDED: That cold rain tapers off by Friday afternoon but we'll be stuck in the cold. Highs will only manage the upper 40's. Lows Friday night into Saturday look like they'll head toward the freezing mark once again. But things are looking up for the weekend with a return to the 60's by the afternoon. There is a slight chance of some overnight showers Saturday into Sunday. Otherwise, the nice weather sticks around into Monday and Tuesday before more widespread chances return toward the middle of next week.
