Tracking storm chances this afternoon

storm

THURSDAY: Showers will push in from the west into the mid-morning hours. We could hear a few rumbles of thunder around lunchtime, and a few storms this afternoon could become severe. The best chances of stronger storms will be closer toward I-44. Highs will top out in the low to mid 60's.

TONIGHT: Storms exit by the evening leaving us with partly cloudy skies and lows in the middle 30's.

EXTENDED: Things are quiet for the first part of Friday before more rain chances move in. Anytime after the sun sets could see some rain, but we'll be tracking those temperatures overnight. With lows faling into the low to mid 30's some wet snowflakes are possible. We're not thinking much in the way of accumulations, but the best chance will be north. If we see any accumulations, it will be on grassy, elevated surfaces. Any snowflakes mixing in will flip back over to rain by the afternoon Saturday with highs in the low 40's. Rain finally moves out into the early morning Sunday, leaving us with a dry day to close out the weekend. Temperatures will get back into the upper 40's despite clouds lingering. Rain chances return Monday and look to linger for much of the first part of next week.
