Tracking dangerously cold temperatures overnight

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and bitterly cold. Lows near zero with wind chills between 5 and 10 degrees below zero.

FRIDAY: Starts off frigid with below zero wind chills in the morning, gradually warming during the day with sunshine. Highs in the mid-upper 20s.

EXTENDED: Winds shift Friday and pick up from the south, increasing temperatures finally as we head into the weekend. More mid-level moisture arrives, increasing cloudiness, but it's looking like a dry weekend around Mid-Missouri with temperatures ranging between the 40s and 50s both Saturday and Sunday depending on snow pack. Another storm system is set to head in our direction early next week, bringing a chance for rain Monday and possibly a few snow showers by Tuesday as temperatures plunge back into the 30s and 40s. Next week looks quiet beyond Tuesday with near or below average temperatures.
