Tracking bitter cold and snow chances
MONDAY: Temperatures will only top out in the upper teens for highs this afternoon. Flurries have moved in this morning but a better chance for accumulations move in closer toward midday. A better chance to get closer to an inch looks to be southwest-which could lead to some slick spots this afternoon and evening.
TONIGHT: Snow wraps up around sunset as overnight lows dip down to near 10. Wind chills will be in the single digits to near zero.
EXTENDED: We try to crawl out of the freezer Tuesday with temperatures pushing above freezing into the middle 30s. We continue the warming trend into Wednesday, as things get back to being active. Chances of rain and snow return Wednesday, with the best chance overnight. Right now, looks like more rain than snow, so roads should be ok, but that's something we'll be tracking again as temperatures hover in the middle 30s. Rain chances hang around into the close of the week, with a chance to dry out by the weekend.
