Policy: Bailey has already staked out plenty of conservative policy positions in his year and a half as attorney general since taking over for now-Sen. Eric Schmitt. The Mike Parson appointee has waded fully into the culture wars, using his office to file lawsuits over issues such as transgender health care and abortion.

Bailey has tussled with Columbia Public Schools over a drag performance where students were in attendance. He has also sued the Biden administration numerous times and joined other states in lawsuits over administration policies. Many of those cases have made their way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
