Tracking rain chances exiting as extreme heat takes over Mid-Missouri

TODAY: I'm tracking isolated showers exiting the area throughout the morning hours as temperatures begin in the upper 60s and low 70s. It is expected to quickly warm up throughout the afternoon hours as sunshine gradually returns and southerly winds at 5-10 mph usher in more moisture, leading to temperatures in the upper 80s while feels-like temperatures near 100-105.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a quiet, humid evening as temperatures drop back down into the mid-70s by the end of the night. Winds will continue to stay out of the southwest at 3-6 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking heat intensifying throughout Sunday afternoon as sunshine helps temperatures back up into the low to mid 90s while humidity makes it feel like it is 105-110. This weather setup has led to an area-wide heat advisory that persists throughout Tuesday as temperatures will continue to feel near 105-110, which is why a set of ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days will be in effect for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. As low chances for rainfall enter the area Wednesday, very gradual relief from the heat can be expected as humidity and temperatures slowly decrease. This trend of low rain chances and temperatures in the upper 80s/low 90s with slightly lower humidity is expected to continue throughout the rest of next week.
