Tracking mild temperatures and sunshine midweek

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and much milder in the low 80s, with less humidity. Light north winds at 5 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear, with lows falling to the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: Mild weather continues through Thursday, but rain chances will return early Friday. Widespread showers are expected throughout the day Friday, with over an inch of rain in many spots, and rain may linger into Saturday morning. We'll dry up early on Saturday, and temperatures will soar back to the upper 80s to low 90s. Humidity will also increase quickly, driving the heat index into the mid-90s on Saturday, possibly near triple digits again on Sunday and Monday.
