Tracking mild, sunny weather today before warmer temperatures and rain chances

TODAY: I'm tracking a cool start to the day with temperatures in the low 40s, but by the afternoon hours, Central Missouri will warm into the low 60s. Mostly sunny conditions are expected throughout the day as winds blow out of the northwest at 5-10 mph, gusting up to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a dry and cool evening as temperatures once again drop into the low 40s. Winds will be shifting into the southwest at 5-10 mph, gusting up to 15 mph as sky conditions continue to remain largely clear.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking mostly dry and sunny conditions to start the day Sunday, but by the afternoon hours, clouds will begin to enter the area as temperatures warm into the mid-70s. This is ahead of a potential for rain (30%) to enter the area late Sunday evening, exiting throughout Monday morning. This will mark a stretch of a slightly more active forecast, as a better potential for rain and storms (60%) can be expected by Monday evening, with the best potential for showers and storms (70%) arriving throughout Tuesday. Precipitation leaves the area throughout Wednesday morning, and the rest of the week can be expected to be dry and cooler.
