Tracking scattered storms late today, dry and cool weekend ahead

THIS AFTERNOON: Increasing clouds, with mild temperatures in the mid-60s. Scattered showers and storms will move into northern Missouri by 3 to 4 p.m. and track through Columbia and Jefferson City through the dinner hour.

TONIGHT: Rain slowly exits to the south, wrapping up after midnight, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain expected for most. Clouds clear faster, and lows fall to the low 40s to upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Friday will feature more cool temperatures and partly cloudy skies, with a possible light shower in the afternoon. Almost everyone will stay dry, and rain chances drop the rest of the weekend, with highs in the 60s again on Friday and Saturday. Southerly winds return on Sunday, warming us back into the low 70s, and rain chances now look to hold off until late Sunday night or Monday.
