Tracking a brief warmup early this week

TODAY: Temperatures are warmer by a few degrees today with all of Mid-MO expected to hit the lower 90s. The heat index will climb to the upper 90s along with lots of sunshine so stay hydrated if you head out.

TOMORROW: We warm into the mid-90s on Monday with winds turning out of the south. This will also increase humidity enough to push the feels-like to 100 degrees in some spots.

EXTENDED: The heat won't last long as a cold front passes through Tuesday afternoon. There is little to no chance of rainfall with this front but by Wednesday afternoon temperatures will only top out in the mid-80s. This will set the trend for an extended period of below-average temperatures.
