Tracking better conditions to get out this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Summer is still in full swing as temperatures reach near 90 with noticeable humidity. Clouds will drift through today but rain remains east.

TONIGHT: Skies clear out overnight with calm conditions. Lows will be cooler in the upper 60s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures remain more seasonal through the weekend topping out in the lower 90s. The heat index will jump back to triple digits by Monday and Tuesday but this heat wave is expected to be brief. Another cold front looms towards the end of the forecast with a chance of a cooldown and rain by the end of next week.
