Tracking another round of storms late today

TODAY: Scattered showers and storms slowly come to an end by midday while a heat advisory remains in place. Afternoon highs reach the upper 80s with the heat index possibly hitting triple digits. Storms redevelop south of I-70 this evening with a front overhead, and some storms could produce severe winds up to 60 mph. This activity exits by early Sunday.

TOMORROW: The end of the weekend looks much better to get outside with highs back in the lower 80s and lower humidity. Rain will clear out to the south and west.

EXTENDED: Monday remains pleasant and dry but heat returns the rest of the week as highs jump back above average. Showers and storms also return midweek and could impact July Fourth plans to the forecast.
