Tracking another round of afternoon pop ups

THIS MORNING: Warm to start in the lower 70s. Temperatures quickly warm to the 80s by noon.

TODAY: Mostly sunny with a spot shower or storm through sunset. Highs in the low 90s with a heat index in the upper 90s.

EXTENDED: The heat and humidity are here to stay as upper high pressure continues to hold on out to our east. Heat indices reach the upper 90s to around 100 through the start of the weekend, but a cold front moves in and brings a chance for showers and storms overnight Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures still look warmer than average next week, but we could see lower humidity with more of a west/northwesterly flow in the jet stream early in the week.
