Tracking strong winds and fire danger today

TODAY: A Red Flag Warning is up for parts of central Missouri due to low humidity and strong wind gusts up to 40 mph. These warmer south winds will push temperatures back to the lower 60s. Dry air today will fight against rain chances until better moisture arrives tonight. Scattered showers and a few storms are possible after sundown.

TOMORROW: More widespread rain fills in Monday with heavier downpours for the eastern half of Mid-MO. Rain totals range from 0.5" to 1" from west to east. Temperatures will be a near-repeat of the day before with some spots reaching 60 degrees.

EXTENDED: We'll be much cooler behind the rain on Tuesday as highs fall to the upper 40s. Temperatures bounce back into the 50s and 60s with quiet weather for Wednesday and Thursday, and we'll warm back to near 70 on Friday as a warm front lifts through. There could be a few showers as that front works through the area, but we're looking mild to start Easter weekend with highs in the 70s on Saturday. Another front works in on Easter Sunday, perhaps triggering a few showers or storms near the front.
