Tracking some much-needed rain into the weekend

TODAY: This afternoon remains mostly dry with cloud cover filling in. Temperatures still make it up to the 60s thanks to a warm southerly breeze. Winds will begin to blow in showers from the west after sundown.

TONIGHT: Rain stays light and scattered overnight while temperatures remain steady in the 40s. It won't rain the entire night for all but everyone will wake up to soggy conditions into the weekend.

EXTENDED: Rain continues through the day on Saturday with totals expected to range from a quarter to half an inch. Temperatures will struggle to warm much at all, staying in the 40s as rain tapers off into the evening. Sunday will see similarly cold temperatures, but sunshine returns late in the day. The coldest air settles in on Monday before a steady warmup back to above average late next week.
