Tracking a splash of rain this weekend

This Afternoon: A tad warm for early September in the mid-80s. A slight breeze from 5-10 mph out of the southeast.

Tonight: Some high clouds will approach tonight, but have little sensible impacts. Lows in the lower 60s.

Extended: As a weak low moves in from the gulf, it will bring moisture in from the south on Saturday. We likely won't see it result in a chance for rain this far north, but it may pop an isolated storm near I-44 Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, this moisture will aid a cold front that is set up to arrive Saturday night from the northwest. This will result in a chance for showers and storms overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. Rainfall won't likely be uniform areawide, with many to the south of I-70 struggling to see much rain at all. Generally, less than a quarter of an inch is expected in most places, with isolated higher amounts still coming in shy of half an inch. No severe weather is anticipated with this system. Behind this, we will all feel noticeably cooler, with lows in the 50s, and highs in the 70s Sunday and Monday. A warmup ensues, and we climb into the upper 80s by midweek.
