Tracking near-record cold overnight, widespread frost Thursday morning

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear and cold as lows fall back into the upper 20s to around 30. A Freeze Warning is in effect until 9AM Thursday with widespread frost expected once again.

TOMORROW: Morning frost followed by afternoon sunshine. Clouds return late in the day as winds shift southwest, bringing more moisture into the area. Highs in the upper 50s. Showers possible by evening.

EXTENDED: A disturbance will bring showers to the area late Thursday into Thursday night, and keep temperatures in the lower 40s through Friday morning. A stronger low pressure system to our south will bring another round of rain and a few thunderstorms to the area on Friday afternoon into Friday night, bringing 0.5" to 1" of rain to parts of Mid-Missouri. The heaviest rain will likely be south of I-70. Showers linger into Saturday morning, with clouds and rain moving out by afternoon. Sunshine gets us into the lower 60s to finish our Saturday. Sunday will be the best day to enjoy some patio time with highs in the upper 60s and plenty of sunshine. We warm even further next week with highs in the upper 70s to around 80 on Monday and Tuesday with a chance for showers and storms returning late Tuesday into Wednesday. That round of active weather will have to be monitored for severe potential with the right ingredients setting up.
