Tracking cool temperatures this week, limited rainfall

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with temperatures falling into the low 40s. Scattered showers possible along I-44 through early Tuesday morning.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and cool with highs right around 60 degrees. Spotty evening showers possible.

EXTENDED: Scattered showers will be possible Tuesday night as a weak disturbance moves to our south, but measurable precipitation will be negligible. Cool temperatures continue this week with upper level low pressure systems traversing through the jet stream just our north, keeping us below average. The coolest morning will be Thursday, with some areas falling to near freezing, especially north. Temperatures most of the week will get into the upper 50s to low 60s for highs with lows in the low 70s. Pollen levels will remain high through the week with the lack of rainfall. Tree pollens are the primary allergen with mold coming in low. An area of low pressure will dive far enough south into the Plains Friday, bringing a chance for showers by Friday evening into Saturday. At this point, rain amounts look to be under a quarter inch. Clouds could stick around into Saturday, but the weekend looks mostly dry with temperatures a few degrees below average.
