Tracking two more waves of rain, storms through the weekend

TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms push south of I-44. Mostly cloudy with light northeast winds and temperatures falling into the low 40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with showers moving back in. Rain becomes more widespread by afternoon and evening. Highs in the low 50s.

EXTENDED: The cold front that brought us showers and storms through this morning continues to push south, bringing the meaningful rain and storms with it. However, more moisture pushes back north as it rides along the boundary into Friday, bringing more rain to the area Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Once this push of rain clears east, much of Saturday is dry with temperatures reaching the low 50s under cloud cover. We'll be tracking another closed low pressure system ejecting out of the Rockies Saturday night into Sunday, bringing widespread rainfall and a few thunderstorms all day on Sunday. Behind the low, lingering showers will be possible on Monday with conditions drying out by Tuesday. A Flood Watch is in effect for areas along and south of I-70 through Saturday night for the potential of localized flooding on low water crossings and smaller rivers and streams with an additional 1-3" of rain expected. Temperatures most of next week stay in the low 50s with another shot at rain between Wednesday and Thursday.
