Tracking summer like temperatures, storm chances early in the week
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the upper 60s. Showers and storms likely by daybreak.
TOMORROW: Scattered showers and storms with highs in the mid-80s. A few storms could be strong with locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
EXTENDED: Severe storms are ongoing out to our west across the Plains and will work back into our region overnight, losing strength as they approach Mid-Missouri. Scattered storms are possible throughout the day with some dry time to get us into the upper 80s in between. A few of those storms could produce locally heavy rain, and as a localized low pressure system rotates slowly across the state on Tuesday, we could see renewed rain and storms. Some of those storms could produce very heavy rainfall on the order of 2-4", but it's not clear exactly where those pockets of heavy rain will set up quite yet. A cold front moves through between Wednesday and Thursday, ending our rain chances for the end of the week and ushering in less humid air. We can expect sunshine and highs in the low 80s between Wednesday and Friday, with limited rain chances by next weekend.
