Police are looking for a suspect in a North Columbia shooting
The Columbia Police Department is looking for someone who fired multiple shots on Riva Ridge Court last night hitting a house nearby.
Officials said no suspects have been identified. Our crews counted 18 CPD evidence markers on the ground in the area.
"I heard a series of gunshots and what sounded sort of like an explosion," said Kimberly Taylor, who lives on Riva Ridge Court.
Columbia police officers responded to the 1500 block of Riva Ridge Court to multiple reports of shots fired at approximately 9:20 p.m.
"It used to be a really nice neighborhood -- the people were much friendlier but I don't even go out in the front yard anymore," Taylor said.
There have been 41, 911 calls to Riva Ridge Court since Nov. 2018, 5 of those calls being shots heard.
"We started having our discussion more seriously last night about moving out of the neighborhood in the next year," Taylor said.
In 2017, a man was shot over a cell phone deal gone bad -- this time, officers say no injuries were reported.
