Tracking a wild end to the week with severe weather and frost possible before more “chamber of commerce” weather next week

TODAY: Thursday is mostly sunny and dry. Isolated storms are possible south of I-70 from Jefferson City to Rolla, and possibly the Lake of the Ozarks this afternoon, but no severe weather is expected. Highs are forecast in the low-80s.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 70s around sunset, and to near 60 by sunrise.

EXTENDED: We start Friday dry and mostly clear, allowing for a quick warm-up into the 80s under mostly sunny skies. South winds are breezy, near 15-20 mph and gusting to 30 mph at times. Storms are likely by Friday night, and will carry a threat for severe weather. Friday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert day, get the latest from our online Weather Alert Day blog. Some showers are possible Saturday morning, but the day is mostly dry, and pleasant. Highs are cool, in the 50s, and a continued cool down raises the possibility for frost as temperatures drop into the 30s Sunday morning. Quiet and more mild weather is expected to kick off next week.
