Tracking clouds and mild temperatures before more storms to end the week
TODAY: Thursday is a more mild day with less rain. A chance for showers is exiting early, where fog will take over in its wake. A dense fog advisory is in place for parts of the region through 7 a.m. Highs are expected near 60 under overcast skies.
TONIGHT: Temperatures remain steady overnight. A breeze from the south continues, keeping lows in the 50s through sunrise.
EXTENDED: Skies are more broken on Friday morning in the east, but in the west, chances for showers and storms will cloud the skies around sunrise. This rain is expected to trend down in coverage by mid-to-late morning. How quickly it clears remains a question along with the cloudiness of our skies. This introduces some uncertainty regarding our temperatures through the day, but temperatures are still forecast in the 70s by the afternoon. Should temperatures struggle, we may not have as much of a chance for severe weather with Friday's first round of storms. Expectations are already low for severe weather with afternoon storms, as a better likelihood comes along a cold front later in the night. Storms will move through after sunset, bringing primarily a chance for damaging winds, but all types of severe weather are possible. Friday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for this reason. Quieter weather is expected alongside warm temperatures over the weekend. More storms are likely by Tuesday of next week.
