Tracking strong storms tonight, gusty winds and cooler Election Day
TONIGHT: Strong storms with heavy rain, gusty winds through late tonight. Lows near 60.
TOMORROW: Spotty showers early with cloudy skies and gusty winds. Temperatures dropping as winds shift to the north during the day. Afternoon temperatures holding in the 50s.
EXTENDED: Isolated storms through about 6-7 PM could pose the threat of a tornado, especially near the Lake of the Ozarks. A lone if storms is getting organized to the west and will move into areas along Highway 65 by around 5-6 p.m., Columbia/Jefferson City 7-8 p.m., and areas east of Highway 54 after around 8-9 p.m.. The severe threat will begin to lessen after midnight, but showers could continue into early Tuesday. Tomorrow is looking breezy and cloudy for much of the day as temperatures start out in the mid 60s and fall through the day as the cold front works through. We'll likely fall into the 50s by late afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday are beautiful with highs in the low 60s and sunshine. Showers return on Friday into Saturday, with rain trying end by Saturday evening. Rain amounts tonight will range around 1-2" for Mid-Missouri, and even higher for areas across southeast Missouri where 4-6" is possible. Weekend rainfall will total around 0.5" to 1".
